Langford Canoe was the first Canadian Company to blend areospace manufacturing methods; Vacuum Fusion Moulding/ Vacuum Forming with High Density Core Cells and modern materials like Kevlar and Graphitized Carbon Fibre. It was not until Langford set the benchmark (that continues to this day) for canoe construction by blending design, material and manufacturing method, that lighweight canoes could be durable, lightweight, and function properly. Although it is possible to make a lighter weight canoe by using less material, less width, shallower depths, and shorter lengths, the longterm durability, function and safety of the canoe are greatly compromised. Langford continues to push the envelope when it comes to building lightweight hulls while also providing unrivaled performance and durability. All Langford Kevlar and Kevlar Ultra Lite canoes are made from Dupont Kevlar cloth. Langford is the only manufacturer of true Grade A Structual Carbon Fibre Cloth, we do not use mixed weaves, faux fabrics or questionable material. All of our Kevlar and Ultra Lite Kevlar, and true Carbon Fibre Hulls are Flat Sheet, Full length and width constructed. We use specific weight and strength fabrics that offer benchmark mesurements of impact resistance and ease of repair (All of our HD Cores, Kevlar Kevlar Ultra Light and Carbon Hulls are easily repaired). Our Kevlar, Kevlar Ultra Light and true Carbon Fibre Hulls are bolstered by High Desnsity Core-Cell (borrowed directly from the boating industry) and a Rib System that is Fully fused with Vinyl Ester and UVA / UVB shielded Epoxy Shell. This construction method offers the longest functional life of any laminate canoe.
